‘Enough to kill everyone’: 43K doses of fentanyl seized in Florida Panhandle city

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Police in a Florida Panhandle city said they seized enough fentanyl “to kill every single resident of the City of Panama City,” authorities said.

According to a news release, the Panama City Police Department concluded a two-week investigation that resulted in the arrest of three men, WJHG-TV reported. Authorities received a tip that drug sales were being conducted in a home and began surveillance, according to the television station.

According to the police department, investigators obtained a search warrant and discovered a loaded firearm with its serial number removed. Police also found digital scales, cocaine and 43.6 grams of fentanyl. The trafficking amount of the narcotic equaled more than 43,000 lethal doses, the news release stated.

Walter Jim Robinson Jr., 32, was charged with trafficking in fentanyl, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, altering the identification on a weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession and/or use of narcotic equipment, according to the news release.

Brandon Lamar Ware, 32, was charged with possession of fentanyl and possession and/or use of narcotic equipment. Michael Colby Andrews, 61, was charged with possession and/or use of narcotic equipment.

All three men were booked into the Bay County Jail. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
