Body camera footage obtained by WSB-TV shows Damien Parms being arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta.

Police told WSB-TV that Parms took a suitcase off a Delta baggage carousel and took it into a bathroom, where he took a charging cord out of it. Police said Parms then returned the bag to another carousel.

“I put it on one of the conveyor belts,” Parms can be heard telling officers on the body camera footage. “It was a green bag. It looked just like my bag.”

Officers told WSB-TV that their investigation revealed that Parms did not have a ticket to fly or a boarding pass that would indicate he would have a suitcase on the carousel.

“Mr. Parms stated that he needed a bag,” Atlanta Police Department airport precinct commander Major Kelly Collier told WSB-TV. “That’s what he told our investigator.”

WSB-TV’s Mark Winne spoke with Parms over the phone, who said that he was at the airport to buy food. Parms additionally told Winne that he has a job, an apartment and plenty of money from his time playing in the NFL.

Parms was with Atlanta Falcons, the Buffalo Bills and the Carolina Panthers from 2015 to 2019, but never played in the regular season, WSB-TV reported.
